How to Be a Mountain Mover

In Mark chapter 11 Jesus tells us how to move mountains. Some believe the mountains are literal others believe they are figurative. According to the Beacon Bible Commentary Jewish rabbi's believed the word mountain refers to a difficult problem or circumstance. Scribes were called mountain movers because they could solve difficult problems. Jesus was a chief Mountain mover because He solved difficult problems. He raised the dead. Opened blind eyes, fed thousands of hungry people with two fish and five loaves of bread. Not only was He a mountain mover but He said we can be mountain movers too! He gave us the ability to solve the difficult problems in our lives. He tells us how to do it in Mark Chapter 11.

Let's read the text:

Mark 11:12-14, Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard it. Mark 11: 20- 26, Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away." So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."

We need faith in God and we need to have a spirit that is willing to forgive others in order to solve the difficult problems in our lives (move mountains).

We need to have faith in God because it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. It's time to confess your wrong doing to your brother or sister, mother  or  father, friend or co-worker and ask for forgiveness. It is time to forgive those who've hurt you. It is time to go move some mountains!

Application Verse:

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much..
