Cleansing the Temple A Time When Jesus Appears to Be More than Annoyed About Something

As we remember Holy Week today, we remember Christ's Triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the cursing of the fig tree, the cleansing of the temple and being set-up by His enemies.
The cleansing of the temple is one of three times Jesus appears to be more than annoyed about something! I'll focus on cleansing the temple for this post but feel free to leave your thoughts on the other two times in comments.
In the text we see Jesus entering the temple and driving out all who sold and bought in the temple, He overturned the money-changers tables and the seats of those who sold pigeons.(Matthew 21:12)

After doing that He healed the blind and the lame. Why weren't the priests and teachers healing them?  They were too busy buying and selling. The temple had become a religious marketplace.
The priests and teachers (keepers of the Holy text) were becoming rich off those they were supposed to serve.

This reminds of God's words to the greedy shepherds in the book of Ezekiel “Son of man,…

8 Reasons Why Christians Leave the Faith

Are you surprised when you hear that a once faithful Christ follower has turned away from the faith and now doubts whether scripture is true or not?
If you are like me, you wonder how this happens but then you remember this is nothing new. Apostasy appears throughout the bible. In Hebrews 6:4-5 the writer notes some will turn away from the gospel although they once tasted the good Word and received the Holy Spirit.
Jesus knew we would be tempted to turn away from the truth but He reminds us to remain faithful to the end (end of our lives) if we want to receive the crown of life.
It appears many leave the faith because they fail to discipline themselves to remember God in their daily lives.
In order to avoid committing apostasy we must remember what God has previously done for us. We can't forget that He delivered us from the power of sin and its resulting bondage.
Failure to remember God delivered us from sin and destructive attitudes or habits, may lead to a fatal state of decepti…

9 Ways to Build Your House on the Rock

Jesus said if we build our house/lives on his words we will survive life's storms.

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
"And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock."
" And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand."
"And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”(Matthew 7:24-27)
So how do you build your house/life on the rock?
Love your enemies.Bless those who curse you. Don't use your words to curse them but speak kind words to them and about them.Do good to those who hate you. Don't return evil for evil.Pray for those who spitefully use you.Pray, fast and do your good deeds without broadcasting them to ever…
